Woven Cotton & Linen
Hand wash in cool water (30°C / 86°F max) with a gentle, pH-neutral detergent
Air dry flat away from direct sunlight to preserve color and shape
Iron on low with a pressing cloth over natural dyes
Do not tumble dry — heat damages natural fibers and can shrink garments
Do not bleach — bleach destroys natural dyes and weakens fiber
Do not dry clean unless the label specifically indicates it
💎
S2 · Soul & Spirit
Sterling Silver & Brass
Wipe gently with a soft silver polishing cloth to restore shine
Store separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratching
Mild soapy water with a soft brush for general cleaning; rinse well and dry fully
Remove before swimming — chlorine and saltwater damage silver and brass
Avoid perfume contact — chemicals in fragrance accelerate tarnishing
Do not use abrasive cleaners — they scratch metal surfaces permanently
👜
S2 · Sun & Shade
Full-Grain & Vegetable-Tanned Leather
Condition every 3–6 months with a natural leather conditioner to prevent drying
Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth immediately after contact with water
Store stuffed with tissue paper to maintain shape when not in use
Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources — leather dries and cracks
Never submerge in water — surface moisture is fine; full saturation is not
💡Natural patina on full-grain leather is beautiful and expected — it shows history, not damage

Hand-Strung Glass Beadwork
Wipe with damp cloth to clean; dry completely before storing
Store flat to prevent the stringing thread from stretching or weakening
Inspect threads regularly — if a thread shows wear, contact us for restringing
Do not pull or stretch the strand — beadwork thread is strong but has limits
Avoid prolonged moisture — extended water exposure weakens stringing thread

Soul & Spirit
Kanga Print Cotton & Wraps
First wash separately — new kanga prints may release slight dye; wash alone initially
Cold water only — heat fades kanga print patterns significantly
Air dry in shade — sunlight bleaches kanga colors over time
No harsh detergents — use gentle, color-safe formula only
💡Slight softening of kanga colors with washing is natural and gives the cloth its characteristic aged beauty

Sun & Shade
Wax-Resist Batik Fabric
Gentle hand wash only in cool water — batik is the most delicate of our fabrics
Use soap specifically for delicates — standard detergent strips batik color
Roll in a towel to remove water — never wring batik fabric
Never machine wash or tumble dry — batik will deteriorate rapidly
Do not soak — extended water exposure dissolves wax-resist characteristics
💡The crackling vein lines in batik deepen beautifully with age and careful washing

Natural Dyes Fade Naturally
Slight color evolution with washing is expected and beautiful in naturally dyed pieces. It is a sign of authentic craft, not a defect.
When in Doubt, Hand Wash
If you're ever unsure about washing a Bleu Allusion piece, default to cool hand wash with gentle soap. You can never over-gentle a garment.
